PROFIT ADVENTURE™ for Operations is a practical and engaging workshop to educate employees within an operations group on how their daily decisions impact profitability, teamwork and company goals. The simulation is based on the realities found in capital intensive service organizations such as transportation companies, telecom companies, and other utilities. This one day workshop consists of:

A Board Game Simulation. The simulation teaches critical planning and financial literacy skills. Participants run a large operations group for three years, they are given a set budget and clear expectations they must meet around key measures such as cost per operating hour. In order to operate within budget, participants learn to manage and balance manpower hours, facility utilization and inventory. Numerous "real life" variables are introduced to accurately reflect the challenges faced by employees in high cost, capital intensive operating environments.

The 1% Difference. A key lesson participants take away from this exercise is the profound multiplier effect daily decisions have on efficiency and profitability. For example, if maintenance work is scheduled and key inventory is not available to complete the work the capital equipment may be out of service longer than expected. If this happens the negative financial impact on the organization is dramatic. In this segment we demonstrate how small changes have a multiplier effect on the bottom line.

Your Customized Applications Exercise. The next step is to transfer the skills and concepts learned earlier in the day to your business. During this ½ day exercise we apply the 1% differences to your organization's financial statements to demonstrate the effect small changes have on your bottom line. Finally, we work through an interactive process to develop realistic, actionable items, generated by your employees that positively impact the efficiency and profitability of your operation.
